This Sunday Was Amazing!!!

Wow. What a day at Dream City Church.
First, let’s talk about worship.
It wasn’t just good… it was on a whole ‘nother level.
There was a powerful presence in the room today. The kind that calls you to surrender, not just sing.
It wasn’t about the setlist. It was about laying our lives down.
And how amazing was it to see Cara back leading us in worship after her surgery?!
CANCER FREE.
We’re still shouting that. Still praising God for it. Still claiming victory.
The whole worship team held it down so well while she was recovering …thank you.
Today, we revisited the moment Jesus pointed out the poor widow who gave two small coins.
It was all she had. While others gave more in quantity, they gave out of surplus. She gave out of surrender.
Jesus said she gave more than all of them combined.
Because giving isn’t about the amount. It’s about the heart.
We’re not building big buildings.
We’re building a move of God.
We’re not waiting on revival.
We are the move.
Let’s not let the success of last week become the ceiling for what God wants to do this week.
Stay surrendered. Stay hungry. Stay focused.
We also continued Week 2 of our End Times series…straight from Matthew 24.
Jesus gave seven signs of the end.
And newsflash…they’re happening now!!!
But one of the biggest things He said was…
“Do not be deceived.”
If Jesus had to say that to His own disciples…the ones who walked with Him… then how much more do we need to stay alert today?
There will be deception in the last days.
It’s already here.
Religion is man’s attempt to reach up to God.
Christianity is God reaching down to man.
There is only one way to God…that’s through Jesus and the cross.
(Yes, I said it… “Dear Hindu friends, if you believe you become a cow after death, that’s problematic… especially since climate activists blame cow farts for ending the world.” Ha!)
But let’s be serious…
The love of many is growing cold.
We see it in our culture.
Abortion is not a political issue.
It’s not “choice.” It’s murder.
Abortion is a BILLION dollar a year industry, and at the end of the day—it’s a HEART issue.
And when parents allow their children to take hormone blockers and undergo life-altering surgeries to change their gender…
that’s not love. That’s child abuse. Period.
Truth is not hate.
There are two genders. Male and female. Woah I’m controversial now!
That’s not political. That’s biblical. And it’s scientific.
But hear me… we don’t come at these topics with hate in our hearts.
We come with love in our hands.
To the one who’s had an abortion…
We don’t pretend to know your whole story. Maybe fear, heartbreak, pressure, or pain played a role.
But Jesus knows. And He doesn’t run from your past… He runs toward it.
He doesn’t shame you.
He welcomes you.
He doesn’t discard your story. He redeems it.
There’s no sin too big for His grace.
No past that disqualifies you from His purpose.
AND
Dream City isn’t a place of judgment.
It’s a place of healing.
You are not alone.
You are not unloved.
You are still His. And He still has a plan for you.
To the one wrestling with gender identity, or someone who loves someone who is…
You’re not a debate. You’re not a controversy. You’re not an issue.
You’re a person.
You’re deeply loved by God.
Maybe you’ve been mistreated by the church. If so, we’re sorry.
That’s not the heart of Jesus.
Jesus came for the outcast, the confused, the weary, and that means He came for all of us.
At Dream City, you don’t have to agree on everything to belong.
We believe Jesus offers all of us something greater than identity confusion…
He offers identity in HIM.
This isn’t a message of condemnation.
It’s an invitation to know the One who created you, sees you, and still has a purpose for your life.
This church exists to reach broken, hurting people who feel like their past disqualifies them.
But there’s nothing Jesus can’t redeem.
This isn’t hate speech.
There’s a difference between hate speech and speech you hate because it doesn’t match what you believe.
We will speak truth. We will do it in love. And we will keep creating spaces where Jesus changes lives.
Shoutout to DC Kids and our Nursery Team!
Pastor Alex and Pastor Kensey… y’all are crushing it.
We have the best kids ministry in Alvin. Hands down.
Our nursery team? You are MVPs.
You rock babies, pray over them, and give parents a moment to breathe and hear from God. You are building the Kingdom one diaper at a time.
As a parent I am SOOOO thankful for you guys!
What yall are doing is not babysitting…It’s Ministry!
We had new families and visitors today.
So grateful to see fresh faces getting connected and feeling at home.
Dream City is growing.
And it’s growing healthy.
Next Sunday is Mother’s Day, and Pastor Cara is bringing the word!
You do not want to miss this.
Then the week after —
We’re diving into the rapture.
It may challenge what you were taught growing up.
But we’re not chasing tradition.
We’re chasing truth.
I’ll end with this:
I love this church.
You show up. You give. You serve. You bring people.
You love Jesus and make this place what it is.
And tonight I’m especially thankful for my wife, Cara.
She fought cancer with courage, faith, and joy.
She used her pain to preach.
She turned an attack into a testimony.
We’re still believing for full healing!
But tonight, we celebrate the victory we already have in Jesus.
Dream City… let’s keep going.
Let’s keep building the move.
Let’s keep preaching hope.
Let’s keep creating environments where Jesus is experienced.
And let’s never forget…
THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
Love y’all.
